This is my review of the Beige G-Shock analogue watch. It is describe as beige and is more grey, but I like it because of this distinctive colour. The GA100 range is of the 51mm diameter watches – so not as large as the G-SHock XL range, which is 55mm, but still feels chunky and substantial.
I love these aviation influenced G-Shock military watches. Same old tough G-Shock as you might expect, but has that aeroplane dial look.
The G-Shock GW300B-1AER is an analogue version of the classic G-Shock, with aviation styling. As well as the standard shock reistant toughness that you come to expect from all G-Shock watches, this high end range of the tough brand packs a host of hi-tech elements. Powered by the sun it has a solar cell, which uses thermal and electrical energy to recharges the watch batteries through solar panels on the watch face. It also features a radio signal reception to keep perfect time. It doesn’t matter what country you are in, it will show you the correct local time, and even update itself automatically for summer and winter clock re-sets.
You get the tough mineral glass, for that scratch resistance, with a tough resin wristband which is flexible and very durable. Water proof to 200 M and 20 bar– so ideal for free diving.
Functionality includes a lot of G-shock standard functionality:
World Time function
Automatic Hand adjustment
The range has 3 variations, including the orange strapped GW 3000M-4AER. Check out the more detailed video review below.
So although not all G-shock watches might be suitable as military watches, (i.e a bright blue one!!) these are my top 10 favourite G-Shock watches. If I have to start a collection these would be in it. Let me know what you think. What are your favourite watches?
Here is the complete breakdown of the list – with links for more detail.
This is G-Shock’s take on the aviation concept watches designed to defy high G forces.
A 1/100-second stopwatch is designed to keep accurate time even under the stresses of high G’s that occur during air racing.
The dual-layer face creates a dramatic three-dimensional effect for the three dials.
The large face is carefully laid out to provide the look and readability of an aircraft instrument panel.
Large metal side buttons are designed and engineered for ease of operation.
At the same time, buttons are enclosed by protectors that protect against damage and accidental operation.
Bands are fastened on both sides with stainless steel screws for plenty of durability.

Following the post looking at the testing procedure for G-Shock watches, I was asked for a review of the G-Shock Analog Digital Combination watch I mentioned, and whether they make good Military Wristwatches. This watch is the G-Shock GA-100-1A1CU and comes in a nice Matt black, which gives it a really cool, Special Ops Watch type of feel and look. This is a BIG chunky watch, and does look great on the wrist.
This G-Shock is as tough as they come, and makes an ideal miltary watch, especially, if like me you prefer analog hands, rather than just a digital display. It is sporty, stylish and extremely rugged. Here are some specs, but don’t forget to check out the video review of the G-Shock watch down below:
20BAR water resistant – to 200M
Chronometer with lap splitting
4 alarms with snooze feature
mini led light
Illumination for the analog hands
Here is a more full video review, this one is not exactly the same as the Matt Black, but all the other features are the same:
I have written extensively about how the G-Shock, although not standard issue when it comes to military wristwatches, they are very popular as a Special ops Watch. I am not a great fan of the purely digital G-Shock, as I prefer a watch with analogue hands. That is why the G-Shock G100-1BV is the perfect G-Shock for me, as it has analogue and digital display.
